Plastics in Packaging

Welcome to our site, created by the European Plastics Converters (EuPC), to show how packaging benefits from plastic material and which solutions are made possible by its usage.

The Packaging sector is the largest consumer of plastic in Europe with around half of all Europe's goods now packaged in plastic, increasingly replacing traditional material due to its inherent benefits. Plastic packaging is low-carbon, lightweight and recyclable, making it an ideal material for the circular economy.

Thanks to constant innovation and achievement of resource efficiency - plastic accounts for only 20 % of packaging by weight.
